The Lacey family purchased the property in 1982 and dug into the hillier clay-loam soils of their property on Closson Road in 2003 to plant what would become 10 acres.
They made their first wines in 2007. The focus is on hand-crafted, small batch premium wines from their estates vines.
Winemaker Kimball Lacey is sinking his County roots deeper every year. In 2003 he started at Carmela Estates as assistant winemaker while also doing the Grape and Wine certificate program at the University of Guelph. In 2007 he joined Closson Chase where he was the Associate winemaker with Debra Pascus and then became Winemaker in 2016 and then left Closson Chase in April 2017 to concentrate on Lacey Estates.
Liz Lacey runs the well-appointed tasting room and retail store.
Charles Lacey is the CEO at 92.
